In the halls of this packed library
Where knowledge is the key,
I find myself alone
With only thoughts for company.
The books, they offer comfort
But they cannot fill the space,
The emptiness within me
That I cannot erase.
I wander through the stacks,
In search of friendship true
But all I find is solitude
In this place so new.
The hours tick away
As I sit and contemplate,
The loneliness that surrounds me
In this hall of state.
But I'll keep searching
For a connection true
In this world of isolation,
That consumes the view.
For even in loneliness
There is still love to find,
A way to break these chains
That bind my troubled mind.
